Our plans comply with the Affordable Care Act's (ACA) health coverage requirement, including access to the following essential health benefits outlined in the ACA:

  • Hospitalization
  • Ambulatory services
  • Including visits to doctors and other healthcare professionals and outpatient hospital care 
  • Emergency services
  • Maternity and newborn care
  • Services to treat mental health disorders and problems with substance abuse
  • Prescription drugs
  • Lab tests
  • Preventive services
  • Pediatric services for children, including vision care
  • Rehabilitative and “habilitative” services

*Important information regarding pediatric dental services for children: OhioHealthy Small Group ACA Plans do not include coverage for pediatric dental services.

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires qualified small group benefit plans to cover essential health benefits, which include certain pediatric dental services for anyone 18 or younger. For applicable small group coverage sold “off-exchange,” pediatric dental may either be embedded in the medical plan or offered through a separate qualified dental plan. Because our plans do not include coverage for pediatric dental services, the ACA requires us to be reasonably assured that all individuals enrolled in an OhioHealthy Small Group ACA plan have pediatric dental essential health benefit coverage through another policy.
